Coya's Class

Welcome students! In wanting to make our class even more interactive, I've created this page to create discussions and to give you all a chance to comment and express yourselves. Please remember, that although this is an online forum, there are still rules and standards that must be met in order for this to continue, so please conduct yourselves accordingly. I look forward to a fantastic year and hope you strive to learn, participate and have fun!

September 11th - Never Forget

This week in class we commemorated the anniversary of September 11th.
I wanted to post some of things we worked on and created as a class and as a school.  Take a look...

I wanted to create something personal and symbolic so many students traced and cut their hands in red and white which were later put together to re-create the American flag...

Here's the finished product...
We also wanted to remember the victims, so we used the list of victims (almost 4000 of them) and displayed them within the symbol of the twin towers...

As a school, we created a memorial (through the social studies department) in the center by the office which came out beautiful.

A close up of some of our class contribution...

And today, the actual anniversary of September 11th and forever more, I hope you....

  1. Aw, I wasn't in those pictures! *Sniffle*

I'm wondering, did you get on the roof and shoot those pictures! I would have loved to have been on the roof!

I could get some Cafateria Yogurt and throw it at random people. O_O

It might hit a few of my teachers, by accident of course. X_X

Btw, Mrs. Coya, are you gonna post some of our pictures in your pictures section of your website? I'm still waiting :D

I won't rest until I see at least one picture, even if it's of a cat, I WON'T REST! >:o

  2. I saw live footage from the ground of New York on September 11 2001 yesterday on the History Channel. It showed all the fire fighters and citizens panicing and trying to save everything they could. It was very moving and interesting at the same time.

  3. YAY! I'm in a picture! Haha(: Manny, you could have come out in the picture, but you left! That is why I always stay after school, fun things always happen ;) By the way Mrs. Coya, the NEVER FORGET came out really cool! And you'll be glad to know that I went on Friday in the morning to hold up my sign. It was pretty small though, but it said a lot (: & In Mrs. Garcia's class on Friday, she showed us a sad clip on about 9-11. Oh cheese I don't even want to think about that right now...

& Manny's right! I wanna see pictures from last year and this year on your website Mrs. Coya! Oh, and you need to take a picture of your little "Afterschool Groupito" for memories :D

    See you tomorrow in class!
