September 17, 1787
That was the day that 39 delegates of the Constitutional Convention signed the document that is still the law of the land today - Our Constitution!!
This year we celebrate its 223rd Birthday! And we celebrated with a bang and I hope you all continue to remember the importance of this day and the importance of this document.
In class we turned this blank canvas into one filled with Constitution Facts provided by each of the students...

In our Law Studies Class, we took Constitution Day to a whole other level. Each student came to class as a delegate from the Constitutional Convention with their "ID Badge" on and created their very own party hat, filled with Constitution Facts, to celebrate the day.
Look at their creations...
Around the "circle" they presented themselves as we discussed whether or not they signed the Constitution. We later went to the computer lab to transport back to the Constitutional Convention with the interactive module "Mr. Madison's Notes are Missing".

I had a lot of fun bringing Constitution Day to life and I hope you enjoyed it, too! I'd love to hear about it, so be sure to leave a comment below. May you always remember September 17th, Constitution Day...
With American Pride,
Miss Constitution
I will most definitely NOT forget the importance of this date, especially since it even had to have it's own little celebration! (:
ReplyDeleteI had sooooo much fun on Constitution day last week! And again I say, my hat looked hilarious, and what made it even worse was that I made it too small, so in every picture you see me in, I had to hold my hat so it wouldn't fall LOL!
& I really liked researching about my founder. I learned so much about him, and the others. And the Madison's Notes thingy was cool too because I find the constitutional convention to be so interesting, & I really like learning about things that happened in the past! :D
Oh and Mrs. Coya, you looked really cute with your little sash and crown (I have that crown ;) I love how you're so into things! That's probably why I enjoy being in your class so much! >.<
See you tomorrow in class and at practice!
-Annette (:
